What you will be able to do
- Choose prompts that make people write, among 80, for a funeral, a celebration of life, coworkers or children.
- Print the cards at home in a size that fits US Letter paper and a photo album.
- Set up the memory table with a sign, enough cards and someone to look after it.
- Collect memories from far away by email, mail or a shared album.
- Read a few memories aloud with a short script.
- Turn the cards into a memory book and keep it safe for years.
Who it is for, and who it is not for
For you if you are organizing a service or a gathering and want guests to leave memories, or if you have a box of cards and want to make a book.
Not for you if you need a handful of prompts for tomorrow: our free page on memory cards for a funeral has prompts and wording for the table sign.
What makes it different
Many memory cards for sale are a nice design with one generic line. This kit gives you the prompts that bring out real stories, the practical details (how many cards, which size, which paper, who looks after the table) and what happens next: the reading, the book and keeping it safe.

Common questions
Is this a printed product?
No. It is a PDF with card layouts and pages to print at home or at a copy shop, or to copy into your own design. TributePen sells no printed cards and recommends no printer or album maker.
What sizes are the cards?
The kit explains the sizes that fit on US Letter paper (quarter sheet, half sheet, 4 x 6, 3 x 5 and a one-line strip) and includes card pages ready to print, two half-sheet cards per page.
How do I collect memories from people who cannot come?
Chapter 5 gives an email, a line for the obituary and a text to ask for memories, and compares cards by mail, email, a shared album, a form and the funeral home's memory wall.
How do I keep the cards and photos safe?
Chapter 9 follows the Library of Congress guidance on caring for photographs: cool and relatively dry storage, photo-safe sleeves and boxes, no glue, tape, paper clips or "magnetic" albums, and labels instead of writing on photos.
Does it overlap with the celebration of life guide?
Planning a Celebration of Life has one chapter of memory cards among many other topics. This kit is entirely about them, with 80 prompts, card layouts, signs and the memory book.
